Abstract

Field and laboratory experiments were carried out to develop arid soils of Pakistan with organic matter and Effective Microbial (EM) applications. The soils were tested for chemical properties, while plant tissues were analyzed for nutrient uptake. The potential benefits of using the combinations of organic matter and EM to overcome the problems of arid soils are presented.
