Abstract
Experiments were conducted from June to September 1998 using a EM lotion
in two solid waste treatment plants located in Beijing. Gaseoas stench
caused by ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and sulphur dioxide reduced by 83.24%
to 98.28 % in the two plants within two months. The COD decreased by a
range of 88.75 % to 98.84% and the BOD reduced by 94 % to 98.84 %. Results
from these studies show the EM technology had good effect on clearing stench
and reducing flies.
